I took my 1999 Chevy Tahoe in for and off topic repair. They noticed I had an oil leak quoted me 500 dollars to repair a oil filter housing adapter seal leak. This is a 30 min job and a 5 dollar part. They are what's wrong with mechanics. Charging people a fortune because they don't know.
I was surprised, given other reviews for this business, that I was charged more than I expected. I went here because I failed emissions. ADEQ issues a pamphlet stating that $300 is the maximum for hydrocarbon emissions test failure given the year of my car. I was charged $330, which included a vague $75 "diagnostic" charge with the additional $85 for labor, and then parts. All the fees are fine, except whatever a "diagnostic" entails. My car runs fine and passed emissions, which is what matters, but I will be sure not to go here for future repairs given the lack of transparency. I've never had to pay such a high "diagnostic" fee. When asked what this was for, I was told that I could not discuss the fee since the owner wasn't there. Shady.
